Lu Ceppu

The name derives from “il ceppo” (the vine trunk), which imbues the grapes with all the strength of an ancient terroir, testifying to the work of generations of winemakers who have dedicated their entire lives to these crops and to perpetuating the traditions of this land. Negroamaro has always been among the region’s most iconic grapes, a grape with a strong minerality, producing great wines that pair perfectly with regional cuisine but also adapt well to international cuisine. The wine is an intense, luminous ruby red and very consistent in the glass. Sensations of red currant, ripe berries, and cherries in alcohol on the nose give way to sweet tobacco, black pepper, red flowers, aromatic herbs, iron, humus, and a balsamic note. Elegant on the palate, with ripe tannins, fresh, fruity, and savory, it is pleasant to drink and has a very long, fruity and spicy finish. Excellent with mountain appetizers, pasta with lamb ragù, roasted red meats, medium-aged cheeses, and also worth trying with goulash and other meat-based dishes from various international cuisines.
