Between the Ionian Sea and the Murge plateau, the Torricella Estate represents the oldest and most authentic heart of Masca del Tacco. Here, Primitivo vineyards—many of them over fifty years old—grow on red, clay-rich soils, abundant in minerals and bathed in sunlight for most of the year. The influence of sea breezes and the pronounced day–night temperature shifts allow for slow, complete ripening, enhancing aromatic concentration and structure.
In these lands, viticulture is a tradition handed down through generations: alberello training, low yields, hand harvesting, and attentive care of every vine. The estate combines the strength of a unique territory with the contemporary vision of Masca del Tacco, transforming an ancient heritage into wines of intense, elegant, and deeply Mediterranean character.

Winemaking philosophy
At the Torricella Estate, viticulture is first and foremost about respect for the land and its rhythms. Every operation is carried out by hand: winter pruning, cluster selection, and harvesting during the coolest hours of the day. Yields per hectare are deliberately kept low, favoring quality over quantity.
Attention to soil and microclimate translates into sustainable practices: light soil management, natural cover crops, and minimal treatments to preserve biodiversity and ecosystem balance. In the cellar, modern techniques work alongside ancient knowledge, with ageing in wood and stainless steel carefully calibrated to enhance fruit purity and the identity of this distinctive corner of Puglia.
